Preflop drills

NexusGTO is a six-player no-limit hold'em AI. Before the flop it plays its blueprint, a strategy trained offline. The drill deals you a random preflop spot from the blueprint, with 100-big-blind stacks and no rake. Pick an action and see how often the blueprint takes it with your hand.

How the grade works

The grade is a frequency gap in percentage points: how often the blueprint takes its most frequent action, minus how often it takes yours. Always picking the top action scores 0, even in spots where the blueprint splits between actions, so a low total doesn't mean you play the blueprint's mix. The gap isn't an expected value. The preflop table holds only action frequencies, so the drill can't price a mistake in big blinds.

✓ means the blueprint takes your action at least 30% of the time, ! means at least 10% and ✗ means less. The top action always gets ✓. "Total frequency gap" adds up your gaps, and "Average per hand" divides that by the hands played.

The drill deals from 19 spots, each unopened or facing an open to 2.8 big blinds. It picks each of the 169 hand classes equally often, so pairs and suited hands come up more often than they would from a shuffled deck. It skips hands that training rarely or never reached in the spot dealt. Like the explorer, the drill drops any fold, check or call under 7% and rescales the rest before grading, so a rare fold or call shows as 0% and counts as 0% in the grade. The cut-off targets training leftovers in rarely reached spots, but it applies in every spot.
